French-American School of New York
Founded in 1980 as a one-room nursery program with 17 students, the French-American School of New York has today become a thriving bilingual, bicultural Nursery-12th grade educational institution with an enrollment of 850 students coming from 46 different countries.
When analyzing a phenomenon or event or attempting to solve a problem, FASNY students learn that analytical approaches and problem-solving methods are highly influenced by culture and can vary significantly. They come to understand and to appreciate this intellectual diversity because they see that more than one valid point of view can be used to attack the same challenge. The ability to formulate concepts, raise questions, study problems, play, write, sing, act, and make friends in two languages and within two different cultural frameworks, expands its students' academic, cultural, and ethical horizons.
As FASNY students progress through the School, they become knowledgeable, adaptable, open-minded young men and women who have acquired significant skills, learned to love and respect many cultures, and who consider themselves true citizens of the world.
