100 Years Later - France and America Commemorate the Great War: Poetry in Translation

The students of the French Department of DePaul University have translated a series of poems written by soldiers active during the Great War and more recent wars.

Poetry and War

In the context of the centennial of World War I, the Cultural Services at the Consulate General of France in Chicago, with the support of DePaul University, offers to French professors in the Midwest a series of teaching tools on poetry during the War. A selection of poems by Guillaume Apollinaire, Romain Darchy, Jean Farré, and Henry Jacques are presented as subjects of teaching tools, which are adapted to fit student of various high school French levels.

Voici un petit recueil de chansons, comptines et danses filmés durant l’été 2012 en France. Vous y trouverez des courtes vidéos de chansons ou danses qui contiennent chacun un aspect de mouvement ou de gestuelle, et plusieurs ont des idées pédagogiques pour approfondir.

Projet Seconde Guerre mondiale

Ce projet se compose d’une enquête sur le web, d’une présentation orale, d’une rédaction de recherche et d’une exposition de l’occupation par des élèves de niveau avancé. L’exposition se trouve dans une pièce de l'école que tout le monde (invités compris) peut visiter l’espace d’une journée. Les élèves du projet sont des guides bénévoles responsables de renseigner les invités de l’exposition sur leur thème de recherche.
